NALSAR hosts national conference on AI, ML and IP for startups

Hyderabad: The DPIIT-IPR Chair and NC Banerjee Centre for IPR Studies, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, organised a one-day National conference on the theme “ML, AI and IP for Startups” on Saturday.
The objective of the conference was to provide startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge needed to navigate intellectual property challenges and understand how AI, Machine Learning, and IP can be used strategically to strengthen startups and support their long-term growth.
Delivering the keynote address, Kavikrut, CEO, T-Hub, reiterated the importance of protecting intellectual property and valuing the ideas and innovations generated by startups.
As part of the inaugural session, the book IP Playbook for Startups in India, authored by Prof. (Dr.) Anindya Sircar, Chair Professor – IPR, NALSAR, was formally released. The book serves as a practical guide for Indian startups on identifying, protecting, and leveraging intellectual property assets, and aligns closely with the conference’s focus on innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
The panel of speakers included Subhadip Sarkar, Vice President – Legal & Corporate Affairs, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Dr. Venkat Reddy Donthi Reddy, Senior Advocate, Dr. Goutam Bhattacharyya, Partner, K & S Partners, Dr. Surya Man Tripathi, Head of Legal Services, ICRISAT and Dr. Ramjee Pallela, Senior Consultant, ISBA, shared practical insights into intellectual property strategy, along with experiences from enterprise building.
