HYDERABAD: The Congress government is continuing its practice of changing names of schemes and establishments set up by the previous government.
After renaming a few schemes of the previous BRS government, the Congress government has now changed the name of a hospital. Accordingly, the Government General Hospital in Tandur has been renamed as Government General Hospital, Kodangal.
This is after the State government sanctioned a medical college for Kodangal constituency, represented by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. However, there’s a twist behind this name changing move.
As per medical council norms, a medical hospital has to be affiliated to the medical college. Since a new hospital was out of question for the Congress, it overnight tweaked the name boars outside the Government General Hospital in Tandur, renaming it the Government General Hospital, Kodangal.
In case when the medical council turns up for inspection, the Tandur hospital will be showcased as the one affiliated to the Kodangal medical college, according to officials.
It may be recalled that the Congress government had earlier renamed the Rythu Bandhu as Rythu Bharosa, Haritha Haram as Vanamahotsavam, Dignity Housing Scheme as Indiramma Indlu, Dalit Bandhu as Ambedkar Abhya Hastham and Asara pensions as Cheyutha pensions.
