Nampally furniture shop fire: Police alter case after five deaths in blaze
The Abid Road police in Hyderabad have booked Batcha Furniture owner Satish Babu under Section 110 of the BNS Act for attempt to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Authorities await detailed reports from multiple departments before filing a charge sheet in court.
Hyderabad: The Abid Road police registered a case under Section 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the BNS Act against the owner of Batcha Furniture Satish Babu. He was later taken into custody by the police.
The police had initially registered a case under the heading ‘Fire Accident‘, soon after the fire broke out and started an investigation. After the bodies of five persons were recovered from the building, the police altered the Sections of the case.
“We will wait for a detailed report from different departments including electricity, fire department, forensic branch and other agencies. Based on the findings, we will prepare and file a charge sheet in the court,” said an official of Hyderabad police.
