Hyderabad: It was a day to remember for the residents of Narsapur village on Thursday when Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao inaugurated 2,460 double-bedroom flats — each with a piped-gas connection besides dedicated integrated market facilities for the gated community — in Siddipet on Thursday.

After inaugurating a pylon at KCR Nagar where the 2BHK houses were constructed, the Chief Minister performed a pooja at a house where the flat owners took his blessings. He also inaugurated a multi-purpose community hall in the 2BHK gated community.

The double bedroom flats were constructed in G+2 buildings on 45 acres in just two and a half years at a cost over Rs 160 crore. CC roads, underground drainage system, integrated market, overhead water tank, multi-purpose community hall were among the facilities that one could see at the new colony.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the underground drainage (UGD) system developed at Rs 278 crore at Chinthala Cheruvu. The waste flowing through the UGD system connecting 7,800 houses will be treated using two sewage treatment plants (STPs).

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the much-awaited guesthouse and Engineering Department office constructed on the Pallagutta Island, spread over 44.88 acres, in the Ranganayaka Sagar reservoir. The project, spread over 2,300 acres, has 3.5 tmcft storage capacity.

Along with Ministers T Harish Rao, S Niranjan Reddy, Eatala Rajender, Vemula Prashanth Reddy and others, the Chief Minister spent some time at the guesthouse before heading for the public meeting at the Siddipet Government Degree College.

After laying the foundation stone for the IT Tower at Duddeda, Chandrashekhar Rao inaugurated Telangana Bhavan at Ponnal and Rythu Vedika at Mittapally in the district.

The Chief Minister then inaugurated Government Medical College and laid the foundation stone for a hospital block. He later proceeded to Komati Cheruvu Necklace Road and inspected the ongoing works.
