Naspur road accident: Another woman succumbs during treatment

Mancherial: The death toll in the ghastly Naspur road accident has risen to five with another woman succumbing during treatment at a hospital in Warangal on Monday night.

Police said that the Ramtenki Divya Vani (33) native of Gudipelli Venkatapur village in Manadamarri mandal breathed her last at 11 pm.

Two women identified as Aggu Soundarya (38), Chintakuntla Laxmi (38) from Gidipet Venkatapur were killed instantly, while six others sustained injuries after a lorry rammed into an auto-rickshaw in Naspur on Monday morning.

Thatipelli Soniya (20) of Dharmaraopet and Thogari Sumalatha (25) belonging to Gudipet Vankatapur, succumbed to injuries at the time of treatment by afternoon of the same day. Condition of another woman was said to be critical. Victims were saleswomen working in different shopping malls of Mancherial town. They were on their way to work when the mishap occurred.

Negligence on the part of the three-wheeler driver was suspected to have caused the accident. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and suddenly attempted a U-turn after a two-wheeler entered the road at a junction. A lorry coming from the opposite direction collided with the auto-rickshaw, leading to the fatal crash, eyewitnesses said.
