National Consumer Day 2025 observed with awareness programmes in Telangana
National Consumer Day 2025 was observed by the Civil Supplies Department with awareness programmes, student competitions, and expert talks. The events focused on educating citizens and students about consumer rights and the role of digital justice.

Hyderabad: The National Consumer Day 2025 was observed by the Civil Supplies Department on Wednesday. Awareness programmes aimed to educate citizens and students about their Fundamental Rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, were organised between December 19 to 23.
As part of the initiative, essay writing and elocution competitions were held at the High School and College levels on key themes ‘Consumer Rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019’ for schools, and this year’s theme ‘Efficient and Speedy Disposal through Digital Justice’ for colleges. Competitions were conducted in Telugu, English, and Urdu, and 366 students participated in the essay contest and 76 in elocution. Apart from competitions, awareness programmes were conducted at Babu Jagjiwan Ram Degree College and University College of Law, Osmania University, with experts discussing consumer rights and digital justice.
The celebrations concluded with the prize distribution ceremony at Civil Supplies Bhavan, presided over by the Commissioner of Civil Supplies and ex officio Principal Secretary to Government, M Stephen Raveendra.
