National Paper Day celebrated with industry seminar in Hyderabad
The Federation of Paper Traders Association and the Telangana Paper Merchants' Association celebrated National Paper Day with an industry seminar in Hyderabad. FPTA urged the government to reduce GST on paper and paperboard packaging from 18 per cent to 5 per cent
Hyderabad: The Federation of Paper Traders Association (FPTA), the apex body of paper traders in India established in 1959, in association with the Telangana Paper Merchants’ Association (TPMA), commemorated National Paper Day by bringing together leaders from the paper, printing, packaging and allied industries and hosting a seminar at FTCCI, Red Hills, on Tuesday.
The seminar was inaugurated by Nikhil Chakravarthy, Director of Industries, in the presence of Sushil Agarwal, Managing Director, Deevyashakti India Private Ltd.
T Kishan Singh, President-Elect, FPTA, requested the government to consider reducing the GST on paper and paperboard packaging to 5 per cent. The current 18 per cent GST has a significant impact on the entire value chain, ultimately increasing costs for consumers and affecting every citizen, he said.
