Hyderabad: As part of the Navy Week 2025 celebrations, Rear Admiral Ashwani Kumar Tikoo, Director, DMDE, Secunderabad, will be hosting a Navy Band Concert for three days commencing December 6.

The Naval Band from the Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, will be performing at the Navy House on December 6 and 7, with Vice Admiral SR Sarma, AVSM, VSM (Retd), being the chief guest on December 6 and Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on December 7.

The Navy band will also perform for the general public at Sarath City Mall, Kondapur, on December 8.

The Indian Navy Day is celebrated every year on December 4. It was on this day that the Indian Navy launched Operation Trident in 1971. The precision strikes on Karachi harbour, Pakistan, undertaken by Indian Naval warships had a great impact in achieving a decisive victory. This also resulted in the liberation of East Pakistan and the creation of a new independent Bangladesh.
