Kothagudem: Maoists have killed a relative of a former MLA in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh State branding him as a police informer.

Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran G Chavan told media on Tuesday that Kalmu Hidma (65) was killed on Monday night with a knife at Pentapad village under Chintagufa police station limits. Hidma was the brother of the father-in-a-law of former MLA Manish Kunjam.


Chintagufa police booked a case in connection with the incident. A police team was dispatched to search the area, the SP said. As many as eight villagers were killed by Maoists in Bastar region this year while 68 persons, most of them branded as police informers, were killed in 2024.
