Khammam: Nayi Brahmins and members of Rajaka community in Khammam district expressed pleasure over the State government’s decision to provide 250 units of free power supply to hair salons, laundry shops and dhobi ghats.

As a mark of gratitude to the government, both community members performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portrait of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at a programme at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS district headquarters here on Monday. They also performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portrait of Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion the SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar and the party office in-charge Gundala Krishna said the TRS government was striving for the welfare of the backward classes in the State. The government was giving equal importance for the growth of all the communities in the society by implementing programmes specifically designed for their welfare. The decision to give 250 units free power would greatly help lakhs of Nayi Brahmin and Rajaka families, they noted.
