NDMA top official inspects rescue operations at SLBC tunnel project

National Disaster Management Authority Secretary Colonel Keerthi Pratap Singh briefed about the situation within the tunnel and the ongoing rescue activities

Hyderabad: Colonel Keerthi Pratap Singh, Secretary of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) from the Ministry of Home Affairs visited the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel project to take stock of the rescue efforts on Thursday.

Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary (Disaster Management) briefed Singh on the situation within the tunnel and the ongoing rescue activities.


He explained that efforts were being made to cut through the TBM and locate the workers gradually. Following the briefing, NDMA personnel, along with NDRF staff and the cadaver dog squad entered the tunnel to assess the conditions and the ongoing work.
