NDSA chairman visits Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar Project
Inspects plunge pool and inquires about potential structural issues at the Srisailam project
Hyderabad: National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) Chairman Anil Jain on Tuesday visited the Srisailam project as part of a stock-taking mission following concerns raised by Telangana regarding the precarious condition of the infrastructure.
During his visit to the Srisailam project, Jain inspected the plunge pool and inquired about potential structural issues. He held discussions with irrigation officials from both the Telugu States and reviewed measures to address the issues. He discussed wit them immediate repairs to the plunge pool.
On his way to Hyderabad, Jain stopped at the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, where he engaged with project officials to understand the status and requirements of the dam’s maintenance. The NDSA chairman is scheduled to meet with Telangana’s irrigation officials at Jala Soudha on Wednesday to further evaluate the situation and recommend necessary steps to ensure the safety of the two joint projects.
