Nearly 24,000 youths secure jobs through Singareni job melas in six months

Singareni Collieries Company Limited has facilitated employment for over 23,000 youth through job melas held in seven towns over six months. The initiative connected rural and urban candidates with Hyderabad-based companies, offering roles across educational levels. SCCL plans to extend the programme to additional regions, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare.

Peddapalli: In a major employment initiative, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has provided job opportunities to 23,650 unemployed youths through a series of mega job melas conducted across its operational regions and nearby areas over the last six months.

The job fairs brought prominent Hyderabad-based companies directly to the doorsteps of rural and urban youth, allowing them to explore suitable roles based on their educational qualifications.

Over the last six months, SCCL has conducted job fairs in seven towns. Of the 66,965 unemployed candidates who participated, 23,650 secured placements. The candidates ranged from those educated up to Class 7 to postgraduates, including those with technical, medical, and paramedical backgrounds.

The first job fair was held on April 21 in Madhira, followed by Bhupalpally (April 27), Godavarikhani (May 18), Wyra (May 24), Huzurnagar (October 25), and Sathupalli and Bellampalli on October 26.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balram said the company would continue supporting social welfare initiatives in its operational regions. New job melas would soon be held in Kothagudem, Illandu, Manuguru, and Asifabad regions, he added.
