Nearly 32 students fell ill after having lunch in a Govt. school in Khammam
Around 32 students of a Government Primary School in Khammam fell ill after consuming midday meals on Friday. They were rushed to hospital for treatment and are stable. Parents have demanded strict monitoring of food quality in schools

Khammam: In yet another food poisoning incident in the State, as many as 32 students of Government Primary School at Bodiya thanda in Konijerla mandal in the district took ill after having midday meals on Friday.
The students complained of stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhoea after they had lunch at the school. The school teachers rushed the students to the Government General Hospital in Khammam for treatment. The parents of the students, who learnt about the incident, also rushed to the hospital.
The students were being treated at the hospital and their condition was said to be stable. It may be noted that students of a Government Primary School at Venkatapuram in Narayankhed mandal in Sangareddy district suffered from food poisoning a couple of days ago.
The parents of the students demanded that the State government take strict measures to prevent frequent food poisoning incidents in government schools. They wanted officials to strictly monitor the quality of food served to the students.
