Nalgonda: Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday underlined the need to set up skill development centres in rural areas to help youth find jobs.

Speaking at a felicitation programme organised by civil society organisations here, Dattatreya said skill development in youth would help them get jobs easily in private sector. “Each mandal should have a skill development centre,” he said, and added that large number of industries was expected to come up in rural areas in the future and youth should learn skills that were in line with requirements of the industries.

Exhorting the youth to adopt skills in technology, the Governor said technology played a key role during Covid-19 pandemic. He underlined the need for united efforts irrespective of political affiliation to solve issues faced by Nalgonda farmers. “Development and elimination of poverty are top on the agenda of the Narendra Modi government,” he added.

Commenting about the accident his car was involved in on the way to Nalgonda from Hyderabad, he said bushes on the roadside minimised the impact and saved his life. The car went off the road but the bushes helped stop the car, he added.
