Hyderabad: Neeraj Chopra and other Tokyo Olympics medal winners were in attendance during the flag hoisting ceremony at the iconic Red Fort, New Delhi on Sunday morning as India celebrated its 75th Independence Day.
After attending the historic flag hoisting event at the national capital, Neeraj took to his official Twitter handle and penned an emotional note.
As a soldier and athlete for India, Neeraj wrote, “It was an honour to attend the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort today. As an athlete and a soldier, my heart is full of emotion when I see the national flag flying high. Jai Hind.”

Independence Day remains the most important day in India’s calendar year, as the countrymen come together to celebrate the nation’s independence which was achieved on August 15, 1947.
