Hyderabad: The Neredmet Police are investigating a suspected loan app harassment angle in the suicide of Shivadanapu Devanandini (25), which was reported earlier this week.
Devanandini, a native of Krishna district, had married T Revanth Kumar of Eluru district in 2022. The couple had been living in JJ Nagar for the past three years and were employed in private jobs.
According to police, Devanandini was found hanging in her bedroom on June 7 after her husband returned home and discovered her body.
Initially, the police started investigating other angles, including work stress or marital issues and financial problems. However, preliminary examination of her mobile phone revealed that she had allegedly borrowed money through a loan app and was being repeatedly contacted by recovery agents over delayed repayments.
On the other hand, the victim’s father, Venkata Reddy, has alleged that the circumstances surrounding her death warrant a thorough investigation and urged police to also examine whether her husband had any role in the incident.
Police said they were probing all other possible angles leading to the suicide.
