There was an unlikely survivor in a shopping mall fire in Philippines recently. Jollibee, the mascot of the popular fast food chain Jollibee, stood unscathed in the two-day fire at the Gaisano Grand Mall of Antique. However, what amused people was how it stood strong and ever joyful in a background that was all up in smokes. Although there were no casualties, there was apparently a loss of upto S$ 2.2 million!

It was Facebook user Jo Olivz who originally shared the picture and wrote along with it, “Jolibee Ing sakalam.!” The phrase translates to “Jolibee is strong”. Soon, netizens began comparing it to their own lives and shared that that is how one has to appear in any difficult situation.
“And I will rise from the ashes like Jolibee,” wrote a social media user. “This is the sign,” added another person.
However, there were some hilarious comments as well. One user wrote, “Reminds me of Annabelle.” While another added, “That is a demon!” Social media users definitely know how to have fun!
