Hyderabad: As Hyderabad City Traffic Police have announced major discounts on pending challans to be paid, several city dwellers have started taking it to their social media accounts to share the screenshots of their payment while also thanking the police officials for the novel idea.
The Hyderabad City Traffic Police has recently announced a 75 per cent discount on challans on two and three wheelers, 50 per cent discount on Light Motor Vehicles including cars and other heavy vehicles, 70 per cent for RTC buses and 80 per cent for push carts. As for the penalty imposed for not wearing a mask, there is a waiver of 90 per cent of the amount.
The offer which will be valid from March 1 to March 31, has been receiving immense response with over 5 lakh challans being paid on first day leading to a collection of Rs 5.5 crores.
Now, Twitter has been filled with many sharing screenshots of their payment on the e-Challan website while also encouraging many others to pay their due challans at the discounted prices.
