Khammam: TRS’ Janda Panduga was celebrated all over erstwhile Khammam district in a jubilant manner by the cadres and leaders on Thursday.
Following the recent call given by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the TRS working president and IT Minister K T Rama Rao, the party flag was hoisted in every village, mandal headquarters and municipal wards in towns in Khammam and Kothagudem district.
At a programme at Telangana Bhavan, the party district headquarters, the TRS party flag was hoisted by the district office in-charge Gundala Krishna. DCCB Chairman K Nagabhushanam, SUDA Chairman, Bachu Vijay Kumar and Mayor P Neeraja attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said the flag festival was celebrated in the wake of the laying of the foundation stone for the new TRS office building at Vasant Vihar in New Delhi by the Chief Minister on Thursday.
The flag festival also marks constituting of village, ward, mandal and district committees aiming to strengthen the party at grassroots level. The TRS was the only party in the country that was born with an objective of Swarashtra Sadhana and has achieved statehood to Telangana.
The party would always remain in the hearts of the people. The laying of the foundation stone for the party’s office in New Delhi would open a new chapter in the history of TRS as well as in the country’s politics, they said.
Several leaders from TDP and CPM joined the TRS on the occasion. Khammam AMC Chairperson D Lakshmiprasanna, TRS city president K Murali, minority wing president Tajuddin, youth wing president Ch Krishna Chaitanya and others were present.
At Kallur Sathupalli MLA S Venkata Veeraiah led a massive bike rally marking the Jenda Panduga. In Kothagudem the local MLA, V Venkateshwar Rao organised the flag festival at nearly 150 places.
