Mancherial: Government Whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman laid foundation stone for three bridges and handed over cheques to 109 beneficiaries of Kalyana Laxmi in Chennur on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Peddapalli MP Dr B Venkatesh Netha.
Suman stated that he had laid special focus on improving road infrastructure of both rural and urban parts of Chennur Assembly constituency. He claimed that he had secured sufficient funds for laying new roads and to repair existing ones, besides constructing bridges across streams and rivulets. He added that the infrastructure would end woes of residents of many villages.
The Government Whip said that three municipalities Chennur, Mandamarri and Kyathanpalli were undergoing remarkable growth in many aspects. He stated that internal roads were widened, junctions were beautified, libraries were created and many other basic amenities were bettered. He then laid the foundation stone to a shed at Pochamma temple in the town.
The legislator stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had brought relief to financially weak parents by extending the monetary aid of Rs 1,00,116 to them under Kalyana Laxmi scheme. He stated that the parents were now easily performing wedding marriages of their daughters with the help of the initiative.
Suman urged the public to follow precautions to curtail the spread of the Covid-19. He requested civilians to wear face masks, to sanitise their hands and to practice physical distance. He said that efforts were on to provide better quality medical services to the infected.
He later visited an oil palm crop being grown by farmer Sanjeeva Reddy at Lingannapet village in Kotapalli mandal. He inspected works of 2BHK scheme being taken up in Chennur town. He instructed officials concerned to expedite the works.
