Mahbubnagar: Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud on Tuesday said more RTPCR tests will be conducted to identify Covid positive patients in the district and extend treatment immediately.

He was speaking after launching the Automatic Nuclear Extraction Machine at Government Medical College, Yedera. The Minister said in the past, RTPCR results used to take a lot of time. However, with the new machine, the results can be declared within a few hours and this facilitates in extending treatment immediately, he said.

Later, the Minister appreciated the American Telugu Association for donating 20 oxygen concentrators to erstwhile Mahbubnagar district.

Under this initiative, five concentrators meant for Mahbubnagar district were handed over to the Minister at his camp office on Tuesday by Indian AATA senior advisor and actor Lohit Reddy, coordinator Krishna Reddy and others.

The Minister said the State government was taking all measures to contain the spread of coronavirus in the State besides ensuring supply of oxygen and other medicines for Covid-19 treatment.
