New Year’s gift to Hyderabad: Chief Minister decides to extend Metro Rail to Medchal and Shamirpet

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has taken a decision to extend the Hyderabad Metro Rail to Medchal and Shamirpet and gave the green signal for the preparation of detailed project reports, HAML Managing Director, NVS Reddy said.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, NVS Reddy said the Chief Minister given a go ahead for the preparation of DPRs for the Paradise-Medchal (23 km) and JBS-Shamirpet (22 km) metro corridors.
The HAML Managing Director was instructed to immediately prepare the DPRs and send them to the Central Government for approval as part of Metro Rail Phase-2 ‘B’.
The Chief Minister took the crucial decision after discussing the preparation of DPR for these two corridors with Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration Department, Dana Kishore and NVS Reddy today.
The corridor will be approximately 23 km long from Paradise Metro Station to Medchal via Tad Bund, Bowenpally, Suchitra Circle, Kompally, Gundlapochampally, Kandlakoya, ORR Exit; Similarly, from JBS Metro Station to Shamirpet will be via Vikrampuri, Karkhana, Trimulgherry, Lothukunta, Alwal, Bollaram, Hakimpet, Thumukunta, ORR Exit.
