Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said the new Zonal system will help in ensuring justice to local candidates in employment and education opportunities.

Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for bringing in a redesigned new zonal system, Rama Rao, in a statement here on Friday, said the new zonal system comprising seven zones and two multi zones was brought in keeping people’s aspirations in mind.

“This move will facilitate local candidates bagging high percentage of government jobs in a way that is not available anywhere in the country,” the Minister said, adding that the new zonal system will be favourable for local candidates who can get up to 95 per cent of all opportunities at State-level recruitments.

Apart from creating new districts, categorising them into special zones, justice will be rendered to people from all regions in recruitment right from junior assistant’s posts to zonal and multi zonal posts, the Minister informed.

Rama Rao specifically thanked the Chief Minister for clubbing Mulugu and Narayanpet districts into their respective zones, besides according legality to the move and bringing in Vikarabad district in Charminar zone as per the people’s aspirations.

The Minister said that as promised, the TRS government had filled over 1.33 lakh vacant government jobs in different departments. In addition to these, over 15 lakh jobs were created in the private sector by attracting investments into the State in the last seven years through effective implemention of TSiPASS, he pointed out.

The State government, he said, has also decided to extend special perks to private companies that give priority to local candidates for employment in their units.
