Newborn baby girl found abandoned along ORR service road in Shamshabad

A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a bag along the Outer Ring Road service road near Shamshabad on Tuesday. RGIA Police rescued the infant, shifted her to hospital and later to Shishu Vihar, and launched an investigation while appealing for public information.

Hyderabad: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a white bag along the ORR service road near the Airport Colony bridge in Shamshabad on Tuesday morning.

According to RGIA Police, they received a Dial 100 call at around 11.30 am, informing them that an infant had been left by the roadside. A police team rushed to the spot and rescued the baby. A preliminary examination indicated that the girl was likely born one or two days ago.

She was immediately shifted to the Government Hospital in Shamshabad, where she was given first aid. She was later transferred to Shishu Vihar in Ameerpet for further care and protection.

The RGIA Police have registered a case for abandoning the newborn and are investigating.

They have requested citizens to come forward with any information that could help identify the infant or those who abandoned her.
