Newborn child found abandoned in graveyard in Kothagudem

A newborn child was found abandoned in a graveyard at Gollagudem in the district headquarters on Thursday.

Kothagudem: A newborn child was found abandoned in a graveyard at Gollagudem in the district headquarters on Thursday.

The locals who heard the cries of the child rushed to the spot and found the child, a boy, wrapped up in a cloth and left on a tomb. A local leader Macharla Srinivas who learnt about the incident informed police, who shifted the boy to Mata Shishu Kendram in Ramavaram.

Later the child was shifted to Shishu Gruha at Bhadrachalam. The child was said to be healthy and safe. The police launched a probe to trace out the parents of the child.
