Hyderabad: A newly married couple died after the motorcycle they were riding on crashed into an electric pole at Jalpal of Manchal mandal in Ranga Reddy district late on Thursday.
The incident occurred when they were returning home from a temple, the police said. The couple, J Laxman (32), a painter, and J Manga (26), a homemaker, both from Bodakonda, were married in January.
On the occasion of Mahashivaratri, they went to a nearby temple and later visited relatives in Yadadri-Bhongir district and were returning home. Laxman was allegedly driving fast and lost control of the bike while negotiating a curve, leading the bike to crash into the electric pole on the roadside. Both died on the spot.
