Sangareddy: A young Telugu couple who reported for duty at Sigachi Chloro Chemicals Limited on Monday remain untraced more than 24 hours after the reactor blast rocked the unit in Pashamylaram industrial area.
They have been identified as Nikhil Reddy (30) and Sri Ramya (28), both natives of Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. They had been working at the industry for several years and had recently tied the knot after falling in love. The two resumed duties only three days ago after taking an extended break following their wedding.
While the couple typically worked in different shifts, they both reported to work at the same time on the fateful day. The blast occurred less than an hour after they entered the factory premises.
Despite intensive search operations, their bodies were yet to be traced by Tuesday evening, leaving family members and co-workers anxiously waiting for confirmation of their fate.
