Mancherial: Seva Bharati, a voluntary organisation, in association with Rotary International has launched a sewing training centre for women here on Monday. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mancherial district president Verabelli Raghunath, who was the chief guest of the programme, said that the initiative was aimed at providing self-empowerment to women who lost sole breadwinners of their families to Covid-19 pandemic.
He said several families were affected by the deadly virus and were reeling under financial crisis. He advised the women to uitlise the opportunity and to achieve financial empowerment. Ekalavya Ashram, an orphan home’s president Vodnala Laxminarayana, senior ophthalmologist Dr Badri Narayana, physician Dr Ravi Prasad and many others were present.
