NH-65 traffic diversion between Patancheru and Sangareddy from September 26

Traffic on NH-65 between Patancheru and Sangareddy will be diverted for two months from September 26 to facilitate road widening, underpass and fly-over works. The diversion will add eight to 10 km to the journey and affect commuters and industrial traffic.

Sangareddy: Police have decided to divert the traffic from NH-65 for the two months beginning Saturday (September 26), to facilitate the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in completing the ongoing road widening works and construction of multiple road underpasses and fly-overs between Patancheru and Sangareddy.

According to Cyberabad Traffic Joint Commissioner Sunpreet Singh, road users going towards Sangareddy from Patancheru have to take a left turn at Novopan junction, located just a kilometer away from Patancheru bus station. They will have to take Shankarpally road here.

They will approach the NH-65 again at Kandi via Kardhanur Cross Road, IDA Pashamylaram, and Indrakaran. The road users who are coming from Outer Ring Road (ORR) and exiting at Muthangi (Exit Number 3) will also have to take the service road and merge with the same road at Kardhanur Cross Road. Apart from dealing with the narrow road, the road users also have to travel nearly 10 km extra distance due to the traffic diversion.

The distance between Patancheru and Sangareddy is 22 km. With the diversion, the road users would need to travel eight to 10 km more. Moreover, the Kardhanur-Indrakaran-Kandi road is a narrow road compared to the NH-65. While the NH-65 witnesses nearly two lakh vehicular movements every day, the Kardhanur road would witness hardly 10,000 vehicular movements every day.

Industrialist P Chandu Kumar urged the officials to fast-track the works since the employees and transportation vehicles coming to the IDA Pashamylaram will face serious issues due to the diversion.
