Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a charge-sheet against seven members of CPI (Maoist) and conspirators in the special court for NIA cases in Dummugudem Maoist case.
Madvi Hidma alias Santosh alias Hidmalu alias Hidmanna, a Commander, 1st Battalion People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) of CPI (Maoist) was also named in the charge-sheet along with Koyyada Sambaiah alias Azad, a Telangana State Committee Member and Secretary of Bhadradri Kothagudem-East Godavari (DK-EG) Divisional Committee of CPI (Maoist).
The charge-sheet was filed under Sections 120B (Conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Section 121 IPC along with other provisions of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Act.
A press release issued by NIA said that the four arrested and three absconding accused persons are Muthu Nagaraju of Mahabubnagar district, Kommarajula Kanukaiah alias Kommaraju Kanakaiah of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Sura Saraiah of Jangaon district, Hidma, Azad, Madakam Kosi alias Rajitha, a native of Dummugudem mandal in Bhadradri- Kothagudem district and commander of Cherla Area Committee dalam and Vallepu Swamy of Warangal.
Hidma is a native of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh while Azad is from Jayashanker Bhupalpally district in Telangana. The case was originally registered on February 18, 2021 at Dummugudem police station in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The NIA has re-registered the case on March 2, 2021.
Investigation by the NIA revealed that the top members of CPI (Maoist) including Hidma, who is the accused number five, Azad and Kosi hatched a criminal conspiracy along with over-ground workers (OGWs) to wage a war against the democratically elected government by preparing to carry out terrorist acts including attack on security personnel.
In furtherance of the conspiracy, the underground members of CPI (Maoist) were involved in procuring huge quantities of explosives, steel pipes, iron plates, lathe machine and other logistic items multiple times through OGWs for preparing Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs), land mines and other indigenous weapons.
Procured bomb meterial in large quantity
Hidma and his cadre used to provide huge amounts of money to OGWs to procure the same. Investigation also revealed that OGWs procured explosive materials including 500 kgs of booster, 400 gelatin sticks, 400 electric detonators, 5,500 non-electric detonators, 5,490 mts safety fuse and other materials and machineries fraudulently from licensed firms in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in February, and transported the same through vehicles disguised as Forest department and delivered the same to Hidma and other Maoists at Telangana-Chhattisgarh borders.
Maoist posters create flutter in Mulugu
Posters allegedly left on the road and pasted on the trees near Vijaypuri Colony on Venkatapuram (Nugur) and Bhadrachalam Highway in the district on Friday, has created a flutter in Mulugu district.
In the posters, the Maoists paid tributes to their party leaders Naroti Dhamaal of Maharashtra, and party members Sodi Ramal Dee alias Santhosh and Punam Badhru who were killed in a police encounter that took place recently on the Telangana-Chattisgarh border. The Maoists have appealed to the people to continue to struggle to achieve the ideals of the slain Maoists. The incident has prompted the police to intensify the combing operations in the forest areas in the district.
