Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police, in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), deported a Nigerian national who was illegally staying in the country and involved in drug trafficking.

The man, Obasi James Victor (38), a resident of New Delhi and native of Federal Republic of Nigeria, came to India in 2011 on a tourist visa. He was staying with his family in New Delhi illegally.

The name of James came to light during investigation of a drug racket. “James was caught by the Hyderabad police while he was moving suspiciously in Tolichowki. The police picked him up and asked for his visa and passport; both documents had expired. Hence, after legal procedures, he is being deported,” said HNEW DCP, Vaibhav Gaikwad.
