Night, holiday duties for TGSWREIS teachers until Sankranti vacation

Hyderabad: Following opposition by teachers, the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) decided to enforce the recent order mandating night duty for three teachers every day and holiday duty for four teachers in its institutions only until Sankranti vacation.
In a statement on Thursday, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Teachers and Employees Association president Ch Bala Raju and general secretary N Dayakar said TGSWREIS Secretary S Krishna Aditya assured to relieve teachers from additional burden of night and holiday duties before Sankranti vacation.
The Secretary, according to the teachers, said the additional duties had to be imposed as part of immediate safety measures for students following a recent unfortunate incident that occurred in Kamareddy district.
While welcoming the Secretary’s assurance, Bala Raju and Dayakar said teachers would launch a phased protest if their issues were not resolved by Sankranti.
