Hyderabad: State-run Niloufer Hospital is witnessing a significant surge in young patients with typical flu-like symptoms. The Pediatric emergency and outpatient wards of Niloufer Hospital are getting crowded with parents along with their children, who have typical flu-like symptoms including high fever, persistent coughs, headaches, and body aches.

Doctors report that changing weather conditions and high humidity are driving a rapid increase in seasonal influenza and H1N1-like viral infections. According to reports, nearly a hundred daily admissions are currently being recorded, with young children particularly hit by complications like viral pneumonia and respiratory distress.

Doctors have also urged families to observe basic preventive measures like handwashing, not sending sick children to schools, and wearing masks in crowded public spaces.
