NIMS doctor Nori Lakshmi Bhaskar placed under deemed suspension after ACB arrest

Hyderabad: Dr Nori Lakshmi Bhaskar, NIMS Additional Medical Superintendent and Additional Professor, has been placed under suspension following his arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and subsequent detention in custody for more than 48 hours.

Following ACB raids at multiple locations in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case, NIMS Director Dr Rahul Devraj issued orders placing the officer under ‘deemed suspension’ with effect from the date of his detention, until further orders.

Initial search operations uncovered massive accumulated wealth allegedly linked to the doctor, with the registered document values amounting to approximately Rs 6.13 crore and the estimated market value ranging between Rs 80 crore and Rs 100 crore. The ACB recovered luxury vehicles and gold jewellery and uncovered multiple flats and open plots in prime areas.

As the probe widened, the ACB also raided additional residential premises belonging to associates and hospital employees suspected of holding benami assets for Dr Bhaskar. Investigators allegedly unearthed additional properties, including plots in Banjara Hills and agricultural land in Maheshwaram, along with unaccounted cash recovered from connected individuals.
