NIMS launches Comprehensive Obesity Clinic in Hyderabad
Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences has inaugurated a Comprehensive Obesity Clinic to provide evidence-based and multidisciplinary treatment for obesity and metabolic disorders. The clinic will offer personalised care through specialists, dietary guidance, physical activity plans and long-term follow-up for patients.

Hyderabad: A Comprehensive Obesity Clinic established by the Department of Endocrinology, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) was inaugurated on Thursday.
The clinic provides scientific, evidence-based, and multidisciplinary care for individuals with obesity and related metabolic disorders and also promotes awareness, early intervention, and strengthens obesity care in the community, NIMS Director, Dr Nagari Bheerappa, said.
The clinic will involve endocrinologists, dieticians, and physiotherapists to provide comprehensive and individualised patient care. Scientific dietary modification, regular physical activity, behavioral support, and structured long-term follow-up will form the foundation of obesity management.
Dr Beatrice Anne, Head, Endocrinology, said that the clinic will be open from 11 am to 1 pm (old building, room number 36) from Monday to Saturday.
