NIMS Neurosurgeon Dr Thirumal Yerragunta selected as Scientist-in-Residence at UCF
NIMS neurosurgeon Dr Thirumal Yerragunta has been selected as a Scientist-in-Residence at the University of Central Florida. During his week-long residency, he will interact with faculty and students, discuss neurosurgery and AI in healthcare, and explore academic collaborations.

Hyderabad: Dr Thirumal Yerragunta, Additional Professor of Neurosurgery at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), has been selected as a Scientist-in-Residence at The India Center, University of Central Florida (UCF), USA.
The week-long academic residency between August 9 and 16 will provide Dr Yerragunta an opportunity to interact with UCF faculty, medical and pre-medical students, high-school students, physicians from the Indian diaspora, and members of the Central Florida community.
Dr Yerragunta delivered a public lecture at the UCF College of Medicine, and his visit also includes interactions with university students and faculty and discussions on medical education, modern neurosurgery, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and possibilities for greater academic collaboration between institutions in India and the United States.
Dr Yerragunta will also participate as a special guest and speaker at The India Center at UCF’s Indian Independence Day celebrations on August 15 in Orlando, a press release from NIMS said.
