Hyderabad: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) on Tuesday has issued an advisory, urging patients, attendants, and visitors to utilise public transport when visiting NIMS and to avoid bringing private vehicles unless absolutely necessary.

The advisory comes in the wake of the construction of CC roads by GHMC within the hospital premises in a phased manner over the next three months. Due to the extensive CC road laying activity, parking availability within the hospital premises will be severely restricted throughout the three-month construction period, NIMS said.

The infrastructure upgrade will cover multiple key zones within the campus, including the Punjagutta entry and exit gates, the Millennium and Physiotherapy Block, the Dialysis Waiting Area, the Wellness Centre, the NPR Block, and the staff parking area at Union Bank.

Construction will also affect the route to the Nursing hostel, doctors’ parking in front of the Doctor’s Club, the path to the CSSD and General stores, the portico, and the common parking area.

The hospital administration noted that these measures are essential to minimise traffic congestion, facilitate smooth vehicular movement within the campus, and ensure uninterrupted, unhindered access for ambulances and other emergency services.
