Hyderabad: Nine players — Ananda Hariharan, Sai Anirudh, Susaran Manchi, Advik Sahasya, Sri Samanvith, Sai Nigam, Shivakumar and Jathin Reddy — are in joint lead with three points each out of three rounds, while Vihaan and Taneesh Vuppala are in second spot with 2.5 points each in the juniors category of the 235th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament at Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhnagar, here on Saturday.

In the Open category, six players — PV Satyanarayana, Rama Anjaneyulu, Tarun Sai Thota, Pramodhkumar Reddy, Rishi Pallagani and Aashish Reddy — are in joint lead with three points each out of three rounds, while Shreyansh Vudayagiri, Shaik Md Irfan and Sharika Tunki are in second spot with 2.5 points each.

Sricharan Tej (3) beat Kaatha Harshiith (2)

Nagasurya Saketh (2) lost to Sai Anirudh (3)

Pratheek Veekshith (2) lost to Advik Sahasya (3)

Shaik Md Irfan (2.5) drew with Shreyansh Vudayagiri (2.5)

Potturi Venkata Satyanarayana (3) beat Krishna Kumar (2)

Rama Anjaneyulu (3) beat Surya Prakash Koundinya (2)

Tarun Sai Thota (3) beat Thota Jo Venkatraman (2)

Rishi Pallagani (3) beat Erukulla Anish (2)
