Nine motorists jailed for drunk driving in Cyberabad, 230 fined
The Cyberabad traffic police’s weekend drink-and-drive campaign resulted in nine convictions with jail terms, 230 fines, and nine offenders ordered to perform social service. All offenders will face legal proceedings in court.
Hyderabad: Nine persons, who were caught during drunken driving by the Cyberabad traffic police, were convicted and sentenced to jail terms by a local court. Additionally, 230 violators were fined for traffic offences and among them nine were also asked to do social service.
Meanwhile, during the drink-and-drive checking conducted during the weekend, the police caught 243 persons at various places. Among those caught were 189 two wheelers, 13 three-wheelers, 40 four-wheelers and a heavy vehicle driver.
A total of 12 persons recorded BAC levels ranging from 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml. All those caught will be produced before the court for legal proceedings.
