Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS leader Singireddy Niranjan Reddy launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of undermining democratic principles and failing to address critical State issues.
Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Niranjan Reddy criticised the Chief Minister for his inability to manage water resources and for making inflammatory remarks against opposition leaders. Condemning his comments on press clubs, he demanded an apology from the Chief Minister for his remarks and said Congress leaders were using abusive language to divert public attention from governance failures.
“The public will respond to such behaviour with votes,” he warned, stating that Revanth Reddy’s actions catered to anti-Telangana forces.
Highlighting the water management issues the State was in for, Niranjan Reddy said the Congress government was pushing Telangana into a crisis by failing to secure water rights. He pointed out that BRS leader T Harish Rao had to intervene to prompt the government to write to the Centre regarding the Banakacherla issue. He questioned why Revanth Reddy cancelled a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister and alleged that it was done at the behest of Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu.
