Nirmal: A 37-year-old outsourced employee of the Medical and Health department, Vakulabharanam Bharat, died, allegedly by suicide, on Monday as he was depressed over the delay in regularisation of his job due to recent government orders 510 and 16.
According to a suicide note purportedly written by Bharat, he had joined as a senior treatment lab technician with the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTPC) of the Medical and Health department in 2018, expecting that his job would be regularised in the future. He was depressed after being a temporary employee for quite a long time.
“The issuance of government order 510 and cancellation of GO 16 caused huge injustice to outsourced and contract-based employees. Others would be able to get justice with the help of my suicide,” the note read. Bharat asked his colleagues to highlight the injustice on a State-level. He stated that he could lead a happy life if his job was regularised, but his dreams were shattered.
He is survived by his wife Pallavi and son. Based on a complaint from Pallavi, a case was registered and investigation is on.
