Nirmal municipality junior assistant arrested while accepting bribe

Nirmal: A junior assistant working with Nirmal municipality was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe from another employee of the civic body on Wednesday.

Officials of the ACB said that the junior assistant Shakeer was apprehended red-handed when he was accepting Rs 15,000 from a bill collector Bharat.

Shakeer demanded the bribe to enter details of Bharat in his service book. Bharat approached sleuths of the ACB who in turn laid a trap and took Shakeer into custody.

A case was booked against Shakeer and he would be produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar by evening.
