Nirmal: Nirmal District Medical and Health Officer Dr Dhanraj has denied that the recent death of two persons from the district was caused by black fungus.

Stating that the cause of death was yet to be ascertained, he refuted rumours being spread on social media platforms about the alleged spread of fungus in the district. Family members of the deceased too denied the reports and said they died of Covid-19.

One person from Bhainsa and another from Kubheer mandal died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital for Covid a few days ago. Some alleged that they died of black fungus since their villages are close to Maharashtra which reported the disease.
