Nirmal: Lakkakula Aditya, an MCA second year student from this town, has successfully scaled the 12,500 feet Kedarkantha mountain peak in the Himalayas in Uttarakhand recently.
Hailing from Besthwarpet in the town, Aditya embarked on the popular Kedarkantha trek on February 8 and completed it on February 12. He received a certificate of recognition for his accomplishment from organisers of the event.
He was congratulated by parents Thukaram, an advocate and Vasantha, homemaker, relatives and friends on accomplishing one of the toughest treks.
An avid nature lover and adventurer, Aditya said he scaled the range as part of his solo exploration of Uttarakhand.
He has earlier successfully trekked to the scenic Jogini waterfall, scaled the Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh, visited Sonamarg and Gulmarg in Kashmir and the temple town Kedarnath of Uttarakhand.
