Nishanth wins Brilliant Trophy juniors online chess tournament

Nishanth Challa won the Brilliant Trophy Juniors Online Chess Tournament by tie-break, scoring 10 points. Lasya Tummapudi and Harshavardhan finished second and third, respectively, in a competitive field

Hyderabad: Nishanth Challa, Lasya Tummapudi, and Harshavardhan tied for first place with 10 points each out of 12 rounds. However, Nishanth emerged as the winner by virtue of the tie-break rule in the Brilliant Trophy Juniors Online Chess Tournament on Tuesday.

Lasya Tummapudi and Harshavardhan finished second and third, respectively.


Final placings: 1. Nishanth Challa, 2. Lasya Tummapudi, 3. Harshavardhan, 4. Arjyojit Bhowmick, 5. A.H. Suryanarayana, 6. Ashita Saparapu, 7. Siddharth Pernati, 8. Uttam Surya Sainaidu, 9. Hitesh Sai Saketh and 10.Teja Anusha.
Boys: Under-15: 1. G. Srineeth Rao, 2. Samji Bharadwaj.

Under-13: 1. Jesshar Nekkaalapudi, 2. Adhrit Padhy.

Under-11: 1. Laxmi Rishank, 2. K. Kovidh.

Under-9: 1. S. Shashank, 2. Saptansh Thota.

Under-7: 1. Ritheesh Nandan, 2. Abhiram.

Girls: Under-15: 1. Y. Ramya, 2. Gajjela Gahana.

Under-13: 1. Indira Kappala, 2. Jaya Ahalya.
