Hyderabad: A clash among students of National Institute of Technology Warangal triggered panic on the campus, with police stepping in to bring the situation under control.
A few students were involved in a clash over filming videos without permission. Though the incident occurred a few days ago on the campus, it came to light on Tuesday after the institute’s management counselled the students and warned them of stern action if they failed to mend their ways.
The incident took place during an event organised on the campus as part of the SpringSpree annual festival. A student raised objection to being filmed on a mobile phone by another student without consent, according to reports.
As the student insisted on deletion of the videos, the other student claimed that he had not filmed anything. As arguments escalated, the students clashed in groups. With the situation threatening to spiral out of control, the institute authorities and the police intervened and counselled the students.
