Hyderabad: The Union government said that the UK High Court had on October 2, 2019 upheld the claims of India in the 70-year-old Hyderabad Funds case. The UK High Court ruled that the Union of India, along with the two grandsons of the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, are the only successors in title to the Fund, he added.
Replying to a question by TRS MP G Ranjith Reddy in Lok Sabha, the Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said the matter relates to the Fund, which amounts to nearly 35 million Pound Sterling. It was lying frozen with the National Westminster Bank, London due to contesting claims by India, Pakistan and the two grandsons of the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, he said.
