Nizamabad clinch Telangana Inter-district T20 cricket title

Hyderabad: Nizamabad won the Kaka Venkataswamy Memorial Telangana Inter-district T20 cricket championship with a seven-wicket win against Khammam at Gymkhana Ground here on Saturday.

Batting first, Khammam scored 114 in 19.5 overs with Vishal Yadav (31) being the top scorer, while Rahul (2/29), M Sai Prateek (3/11) and Vikram Jadav (2/18) bowled well for Nizamabad.

In reply, Nizamabad chased down the target in 12 overs thanks to Harshavardhan Singh (69) and Ajith Dama (38).

Nalgonda recorded an 88-run win against Adilabad to settle for third place, thanks to a fine century by P Sainadh (121, 38 balls, 5 fours, 13 sixes).

Final: Khammam 114 in 19.5 overs (Vishal Yadav 31, Rahul 2/29, M Sai Prateek 3/11, Vikram Jadav 2/18) lost to Nizamabad 115/3 in 12 overs (Harshavardhan Singh 69, Ajith Dama 38).
