Nizamabad: All the arrangements for the counting of Nizamabad Local Bodies’ constituency by-elections to be held on Monday have been made at the counting centre at Nizamabad Polytechnic College, said the Election Returning Officer and the district Collector Narayana Reddy. Starting at 8 am, the counting will be held in two rounds and the results will be announced within two hours, he said.
In total, six tables have been arranged for the counting process with each table having four polling staff. The polling for the MLC was held on 9th October and out of the 824 votes, 821 votes were polled with 96.64 polling percentage. Two votes registered through postal ballot.
Election Observer Veerabramaiah and Returning Officer and Nizamabad Collector Narayana Reddy On Saturday conducted scrutiny at the centre according to the State Election Commission orders and inspected the reports of Presiding Officers, Sectoral Officers and Micro Observer’s reports.
The Election Returning Officer Narayana Reddy said that all the arrangements were in place for the counting process at Nizamabad Polytechnic College, adding, only counting staff, the candidates and their agents would be allowed into the counting centre.
Former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha contested from the TRS party while Vadepalli Subhash Reddy from the Congress and Pothankar Lakshminarayana contested from BJP.
